Fleece Show & Sale

The Festival’s Fleece Show and Sale is THE place to purchase quality fleeces for handspinners, felters and other crafters.

Sheep fleeces entered in the competition will be judged on suitability for handspinning and assessed for soundness, cleanliness including yield, as well as handle, staple length, crimp style and uniformity characteristic to breed. Come early for best selections.

The Fleece Show & Sale will be open for viewing when the Fibre Village opens Saturday (August 24th) morning. Sale Only fleeces will be sold on a first come, first serve basis with individual fleece producers having set the price for their fleeces. Select fleece show winners will be available for sale by silent auction.

  • Friday Aug. 23rd, 9:00am - Show fleeces judged

  • Saturday Aug. 24th, 10:00am to 3:00pm - Fleeces for sale

  • Saturday Aug. 24th, 10:00am to 3:00pm - Silent Auction for award winning fleeces

  • Saturday Aug. 24th, 3:30pm - Pickup for winners of the silent auction fleeces

Our Fleece Show & Sale also invites owners of all species of fibre-producing animals (sheep, llamas, alpacas, goats and rabbits) to offer fleeces for sale. It is NOT necessary to enter the show in order to offer your fleeces for sale.

A number of our Marketplace Vendors have volunteered to showcase their talents, crafting abilities and/or fibre products for these free demos.  In addition to the scheduled demos, many vendors will be demonstrating in their booths.
