About The Event
Instructor: Â Tammy Bast aka The Rogue Weaver
This is geared to 3 specific groups of people:
1. Those who are coming back to weaving after a hiatus. Students will remember the basics but might need a little extra help and encouragement to get going again;
2. Those who are regular weavers and are looking for tips to make their weaving life easier, more efficient and improve skills. This is perfect for people who have taken a beginner class and woven a few projects then realized they would benefit from another class but don’t need a beginner class, or self-taught weavers.
3. Â We found in last year's workshop, that it was a great workshop for absolute beginners.
Students will warp a scarf using 2 skeins of Noro Silk Garden Sock, wind, tie on and begin weaving. During each step Tammy  will have tips to make things easier and ensure things go smoothly as well as answering questions as they come up. We will cover anything that might come up in weaving…neat selvedges, tension, broken warps, changing colours, using multiple shuttles, fixing mistakes, finishing…
Students will receive a PDF of a 7pg ebooklet complete with video links. Â
Tammy will provide a spiral bound hard copy for an extra $15 fee if desired (students should request this at time of registration)
Students will need a rigid heddle loom (any size) and a 7.5 or 8 dent reed. Please also bring warping sticks or paper, warping peg(s) and clamps, heddle hook, scissors, t-pins, s-hooks, shuttles (at least 2) pick up-stick, tape measure, darning needle, crochet hook, a stand if you have one, and anything else you may need for weaving. (including 2 skeins of Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn)
Please note workshops are kept small to make the most of your day. Â If you need to cancel, your workshop fee is non refundable but you can transfer your registration to someone else.Â
