About The Event

The Sisterhood is thrilled to have Donna Gilroy in the Studio.

Donna has been knitting for many years. Mittens have always been a favourite project for her.

Donna started double knitting about 10 years ago using both hands, so when the Saltwater books came along, she jumped right in with both hands.

Donna will unlock the mystery of two handed colour work knitting by teaching:

- techniques for knitting the Saltwater Projects

- specifically the Diamond Cushion Pattern in the Saltwater Gifts book

- stranding/colourwork

- yarn positioning

- carrying floats

- reading the Saltwater patterns

Students should be able to knit in the round and have experience knitting with double pointed needles.

Please bring basic knitting supplies plus material list below.

Materials Needed:

250 metres each of Dark and LIght medium weight worsted yarn.  (Group 4)

4.5mm circular needles 60 cm in length, or the size to produce the desired gauge (10 stitches=2 inches)

Saltwater books, yarn & needles are available at the Sisterhood Fibres Shop in Tatamagouche.
