About The Event
Instructor: Lorna Ash, Shades of Ewe Fibreworks
This workshop is a hands-on introduction to all things spinning.
You will begin by learning about the properties of wool and how these can affect your spinning and your textile projects.
You will then learn to spin on a drop spindle, and will gain skill and confidence in spinning singles and plying them to make a 2 ply yarn.
Next we will look at a beautiful local fleece, learn to card that fleece, and then spin it.
Then a guided demonstration of how to spin on a spinning wheel, with the opportunity to try spinning on a wheel yourself.
